PMI Ghana Signs MOU with University of Ghana Business School

PMI Students

The Project Management Institute (PMI) Ghana Chapter and the Department of Organization & Human Resource Management at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 14th July 2025 to strengthen collaboration between academia and industry. The two-year agreement will benefit faculty, students, and the wider PMI Ghana community.

The signing ceremony in Accra brought together the Provost of the College of Humanities, Professor Joseph Awetori Yaro, faculty, students, and PMI Ghana representatives.

Mr. Frank Owusu-Asamoah, President of PMI Ghana, highlighted the MOU’s role in preparing students for the job market and promoting ethical leadership in project management. He noted the partnership will be reviewed after two years to explore further opportunities.

Professor Joseph Awetori Yaro welcomed the initiative, stressing the need to align academic programs with industry demands through co-created curricula, mentorship, and organizational site visits.

The ceremony ended with networking and discussions on the next steps, with both parties expressing optimism about the impact of the collaboration.

 

This milestone represents another significant step by PMI Ghana in deepening engagement with academia to advance project management practice in Ghana.
