Our Way of Work
PMI Students

The Project Management Institute Ghana Chapter (PMI Ghana), in collaboration with the African Leadership Academy (ALA), on Saturday, held a one-day Leadership Acceleration Program for senior high school students in Ghana. The event took place at Al-Rayan International School in East Legon, Accra.

The program brought together students from leading institutions, including Galaxy International School, Beacon College International, and PRESEC Legon, among others. The objective was to equip participants with the mindset and tools needed to become changemakers in their communities.

Facilitators from ALA engaged students in sessions designed to help them harness their ideasand transform them into impact-driven initiatives using the “BUILD” concept. The ALA Leadership Accelerator Program, funded by the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF), introduces young people to entrepreneurial thinking while integrating project management skills to ensure the successful delivery of their ideas.

As part of the program, PMI Ghana led a practical session on Project Management, where students gained a hands-on understanding of the project life cycle, from initiation through planning, execution, and closure. This experience emphasized how structured project management practices can turn innovative ideas into sustainable community solutions.

Speaking at the event, Mabel Birago Otu, Youth & Social Impact Coordinator for PMI Ghana underscored the importance of bridging theory and practice by providing young leaders with relevant, actionable skills. The institute also highlighted its commitment to collaborating with educational institutions and youth-focused organizations to build a generation of disciplined and visionary leaders.

PMI Ghana extends a call to action for industry leaders, academic institutions, and development partners to join hands in future initiatives aimed at nurturing the next generation of innovative, project-oriented leaders across the country.
